Why choose a Vortex Eon?

Affordable Vortex quality

The Eon, as the price implies, is the entry level spa for the Vortex range. The thing we do love about the Eon though is that it includes the same pumps, heater, control system and filtration system as the rest of the Vortex range. Not to mention their great 4 layers shell construction covered by a comprehensive 10 year structural warranty.

Compact and spacious

The Eon design centres around two bucket seats and a large wrap around bench seat. This makes it ideal for a growing family. Because the Eon doesn't include any loungers, it comfortably seats 4-5 adults and the large footwell means you won't be fighting for foot space.

Simple and reliable

The Eon evens includes Vortex's back lit water cascade which is a really nice touch on a spa in this price bracket. As simple upgrade to the Eon Avanté adds stainless jets, more lighting and better insulation.  However, If great massage is what you are after in your spa, the Eon may fall a little short. With only 13 directional jets, it gives the most basic level of hydrotherapy.

Add Hydroplus to your Eon

The Eon Hydroplus is simply the Eon with an air blower system added for additional hydrotherapy.. Like the Eon, the Eon Hydroplus includes  the same pumps, heater, control system and filtration system as the rest of the Vortex range.

The addition of the air-blower system takes the Eon Hydroplus's total jet count to 27, pretty impressive for a spa in this price bracket. The additional air jets are focused about the base of the seats giving a nice soft tissue massage to the hamstring area.

Back therapy seats

The back is generally where most of hold our tension and many of us suffer pain in various parts of the back.

Back therapy seats

As such, th Eon back massage seats come in two jet layouts that focus therapy to the upper, middle or lower back.

One child seat

For those with younger children, it is often difficult to enjoy a spa without the children having to stand or sit on an adults lap. Child seats are designed to seat children with there heads comfortably out of the water. The can also provide secondary seating for adults if you are entertaining in your spa.

Four bench seats

The clever bench seat design in the Eon offers enough space for four people to relax and unwind. The corner seats of the bench both have double jets.

The space between is reserved for a single jet to offer a different form of stress relief and relaxation.

Eon Hydroplus Features

In-Spa
Experience
Tranquil water feature

The Tranquil water feature gives your spa a relaxing feel with a gentle back lit water cascade. This water feature runs of the filtration pump, so it can be left running while your spa is not in use- turning it in to a garden water feature.

Illuminated Topside Controls (optional)

Another thoughtful touch on the Eon Hydroplus spa is that the topside controls, which alter water and air flow, are illuminated. This makes them easy to locate at night and adds to the separate LED lights that illuminate various parts of the Eon Hydroplus spa

Spa Health Indicator Light

The Vortex Spa health indicator light has been designed to communicate the spa’s condition to spa user without having to lift the cover. The indicator lights up blue to show it is at the correct temperature, or red to indicate a water temperature fluctuation over 5°C or a fault.

Spanet WiFi control (optional)

Control your spa remotely from anywhere in the world! With the optional Spanet wifi/bluetooth control unit, all you have to do is download the phone app (Android or Apple) and you can control all the spa functions simply and remotely. Also included is the SV HiFi which allows you to stream music from any bluetooth equipped smart device (phone, tablet etc). Sit back relax to your favorite music.

Programmable Circulation Pump

Up until recently, there were two types of filtration pump systems available. The first was a two speed pump which filtered on low speed and switched to high speed when the jets were turned on. Two speed pumps are still available, but the pumps are usually more noisy and less reliable.

The second system was a very small circulation pump which ran 24 hours a day regardless of whether you needed it to or not. The Vortex Eon instead uses a programmable circulation pump. It is quieter and more reliable than a two speed pump, but can be programmed to run for between 2 and 24 hours per day depending on how much the spa is being used.

Variable Output Heater

The heater of your spa draws more power than any other component. As a result, when the big jet pump or pumps turn on, the heater usually has to turn off, as unless your spa is hard wired, a conventional outdoor power point cannot provide enough power to run the heater and big jet pump at the same time.

The Vortex Eon however, has a variable output heater. This means when the spa's jet pump is turned on, the heater turns DOWN rather than OFF. This has the benefit of maintaining the spa's temperature while you are using it, rather than cooling it down.

High densityHigh Density Lid

As heat rises, most of the heat loss in a spa occurs through the spa's cover. As such, it is important that the spa's cover is manufactured from a high density foam that has better heat retention properties. The Vortex Eon uses a high density foam insert which is also heat shrink sealed to prevent water ingress, prolonging the cover's life.

Insulated Base

The insulated base works in tandem with the perimeter insulation to ensure the cold is kept out and heating costs are reduced.

Perimeter Insulation

There are several ways to insulate a spa. Vortex spas have chosen to use perimeter insulation. Whilst more expensive to produce than foaming the shell of the spa, it does have the benefit of insulating the water that is in the plumbing of the spa, as well as the water in the spa itself.

Dual Layer Insulation*

Acting like double glazed windows, the dual layer insulation system traps air between the foam insulation on the shell and the reflective foil and foam insulation of the cabinet, to create a pocket of warm air.

This system ensures that not only the water in the spa is insulated, but also the water in the pipework. This option adds a higher level of heat retention than Vortex’s standard perimeter insulation.

*optional on all Vortex spas

Arctic Insulation*

Vortex Spa’s optional Arctic pack insulation is the ultimate level of insulation available. It increasing the thickness of the perimeter insulation to 50mm gives unsurpassed heat retention and the lowest possible running costs.

This system is extensively used on Vortex Spas sold in very cold regions such as Scandinavia and Canada.

Thermobond shell construction

Vortex Spas use a 4 layer thermobond shell construction in the manufacturing of all of their spa shells.

The first layer is acrylic which gives the spa its colour. This is backed by a water proof, vinyl ester resin, marine grade polyester resin, which adds torsional strength, and, finally, a polyceramic layer which adds rigidity.

The shells are oven cured to ensure the correct bonding of the various layers. This is a crucial step that is missed by most manufacturers due to its additional cost.

Flexible PVC Plumbing

In order to eliminate the chance of kinks in the plumbing and to prolong life, Vortex Spas use a flexible PVC plumbing material called Duraflex. This is a flexible tubing that incorporates a spiral of rigid PVC. Unlike the tubing used by many manufacturers, Vortex Spas Duraflex plumbing is specifically designed for hot, chemically treated water and carries a 5 year no leak guarantee.

Timber-free frame (optional)

Vortex’s Permaframe construction is a timber-free framing system that is impervious to rot, mildew or vermin damage. Produced used high impact, injection molded plastic, it is designed to last indefinitely.

Vermin Proof Base

Vermin, snakes and rodents love the underside of spas as it is warm and dry. To repel unwanted visitors, the Spectrum Hydroplus features a sealed, Vermin proof base and cabinet design.
