Lounger

The Aquagym Max's hydrotherapy lounger combines upper and lower back massage with fantastic foot massage to bring you the ultimate hydrotherapy experience.

Back therapy seat

The back is generally where most of hold our tension and many of us suffer pain in various parts of the back. As such, back massage seats come in a variety of jet layouts that focus therapy to the upper, middle or lower back.

Neck and shoulder therapy seat

As the name implies, the Neck and shoulder therapy seat has downward facing 50mm jets specifically designed to massage the back of the neck and the top of the shoulders. The neck and shoulder therapy seats also feature 6, 75mm jets for a great back massage.

Cool down seat

Designed to seat you in a higher position to allow you to cool down. The Aqualap Extreme has one cool down seat.

Aquagym Max Extreme Features

In-Spa Experience
four high volume swim jets
Four Swim Jets

Four powerful 150mm swim jets create a current strong enough to swim against. The jets are fully adjustable for a personalised work out.

Hydrotherapy lounger

The Aquagym Max Extreme has a fully fledged hydrotherapy lounger. The lounger offers a full shoulder to toe massage from a mixture of powerful hydrotherapy and air jets.

Individual seat pressure controls

Just as some like a firm mattresses and some like a soft one, the Aquagym Max Extreme allows you to adjust your jet pressure.  The Aquagym Max Extreme has individual jet pressure control for each seat to ensure everyone is satisfied.

Twin Laminar jets (optional)

The term 'laminar' relates to a pure stream of uninterrupted water flow with no swirls or eddies. Laminar water jets are usually only found in luxury swimming pools, but due to Vortex Spas' unique balancing chamber system, the Aquagym Max Extreme spa has two pairs of laminar jets built in. Not only do these laminar jets give a beautiful water display during the day, but at night they light up like liquid Neon.

Tranquil water feature

The Tranquil water feature gives your spa a relaxing feel with a gentle back lit water cascade. This water feature runs of the filtration pump, so it can be left running while your spa is not in use- turning it in to a garden water feature.

Illuminated glass holders (optional)

It is important to stay hydrated whilst using your spa, but at night, it can be hard to find where you've left your favourite beverage. They also tend to illuminate both the vessel and the liquid within it giving a nice lighting effect above the spa's water line.

Illuminated Topside Controls (optional)

Another thoughtful touch on the Aquagym Max Extreme spa is that the topside controls, which alter water and air flow, are illuminated. This makes them easy to locate at night and adds to the separate LED lights that illuminate various parts of the Aquagym Max Extreme spa

Spa Health Indicator Light

The Vortex Spa health indicator light has been designed to communicate the spa’s condition to spa user without having to lift the cover. The indicator lights up blue to show it is at the correct temperature, or red to indicate a water temperature fluctuation over 5°C or a fault.

Spanet WiFi control (optional)

Control your spa remotely from anywhere in the world! With the optional Spanet wifi/bluetooth control unit, all you have to do is download the phone app (Android or Apple) and you can control all the spa functions simply and remotely. Also included is the SV HiFi which allows you to stream music from any bluetooth equipped smart device (phone, tablet etc). Sit back relax to your favorite music.

programmable circulation pump
Programmable Circulation Pump

Up until recently, there were two types of filtration pump systems available. The first was a two speed pump which filtered on low speed and switched to high speed when the jets were turned on. Two speed pumps are still available, but the pumps are usually more noisy and less reliable.

The second system was a very small circulation pump which ran 24 hours a day regardless of whether you needed it to or not. The Vortex Aquagym Max Extreme instead uses a programmable circulation pump. It is quieter and more reliable than a two speed pump, but can be programmed to run for between 2 and 24 hours per day depending on how much the spa is being used.

Variable Output Heater
Variable Output Heater

The heater of your spa draws more power than any other component. As a result, when the big jet pump or pumps turn on, the heater usually has to turn off, as unless your spa is hard wired, a conventional outdoor power point cannot provide enough power to run the heater and big jet pump at the same time.

The Vortex Aquagym Max Extreme however, has a variable output heater. This means when the spa's jet pump is turned on, the heater turns DOWN rather than OFF. This has the benefit of maintaining the spa's temperature while you are using it, rather than cooling it down.

High Density LidHigh Density Lid

As heat rises, most of the heat loss in a spa occurs through the spa's cover. As such, it is important that the spa's cover is manufactured from a high density foam that has better heat retention properties. The Vortex Aquagym Max Extreme uses a high density foam insert which is also heat shrink sealed to prevent water ingress, prolonging the cover's life.

Insulated Base
Insulated Base

The insulated base works in tandem with the perimeter insulation to ensure the cold is kept out and heating costs are reduced.

Perimeter Insulation
Perimeter Insulation

There are several ways to insulate a spa. Vortex spas have chosen to use perimeter insulation. Whilst more expensive to produce than foaming the shell of the spa, it does have the benefit of insulating the water that is in the plumbing of the spa, as well as the water in the spa itself.

Dual Layer Insulation
Dual Layer Insulation*

Acting like double glazed windows, the dual layer insulation system traps air between the foam insulation on the shell and the reflective foil and foam insulation of the cabinet, to create a pocket of warm air.

This system ensures that not only the water in the spa is insulated, but also the water in the pipework. This option adds a higher level of heat retention than Vortex’s standard perimeter insulation.

Arctic Insulation
Arctic Insulation*

Vortex Spa’s optional Arctic pack insulation is the ultimate level of insulation available. It increasing the thickness of the perimeter insulation to 50mm gives unsurpassed heat retention and the lowest possible running costs.

This system is extensively used on Vortex Spas sold in very cold regions such as Scandinavia and Canada.

Thermobond shell construction

Vortex Spas use a 4 layer thermobond shell construction in the manufacturing of all of their spa shells.

The first layer is acrylic which gives the spa its colour. This is backed by a water proof, vinyl ester resin, marine grade polyester resin, which adds torsional strength, and, finally, a polyceramic layer which adds rigidity.

The shells are oven cured to ensure the correct bonding of the various layers. This is a crucial step that is missed by most manufacturers due to its additional cost.

Flexible PVC Plumbing

In order to eliminate the chance of kinks in the plumbing and to prolong life, Vortex Spas use a flexible PVC plumbing material called Duraflex. This is a flexible tubing that incorporates a spiral of rigid PVC. Unlike the tubing used by many manufacturers, Vortex Spas Duraflex plumbing is specifically designed for hot, chemically treated water and carries a 5 year no leak guarantee.

Timber-free frame

Vortex’s Permaframe construction is a timber-free framing system that is impervious to rot, mildew or vermin damage. Produced used high impact, injection molded plastic, it is designed to last indefinitely.
